Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 June 2026

The Retirement Brief (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or subscribe to our newsletter, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Who we are

The data controller responsible for your information is MAPLE MEDIA GROUP LTD, a private limited company registered in England & Wales under company number 17142580, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. You can contact us about privacy matters at privacy@theretirementbrief.co.uk. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZC124173.

What we collect

How we use it, and our legal basis

Email and our provider

We use a trusted third-party email marketing platform to store subscriber details and send emails on our behalf. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time by using it or by emailing us — this does not affect anything we sent beforehand.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf (for example our email platform, website host and analytics provider), and only as needed to run the service. We may also disclose information where required by law.

International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses) to protect your information.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed, plus a short period afterwards for our records. If you unsubscribe or ask us to erase your data, we remove it from our active mailing list.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to make the site work and may use analytics cookies to understand how it is used. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect how parts of the site function.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its use, request portability, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email us at privacy@theretirementbrief.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with a revised “last updated” date.
